Dr. Amir Morris is a strategic interdisciplinary thinker who is not afraid to re-examine premises others take for granted, who learns from one discipline to speed approaches in another, and who aims for synergistic results to leverage returns with a lower investment cost. Most recently his work has focused on systems thinking, complexity, and knowledge management.
His academic research included investigating the cost benefit analysis of Ergonomics and workplace design / redesign, building upon his previous medical studies and specialist medical work in Immunology and Toxicology, as well as Occupational Medicine. He has also worked on stressor identification and management as well as experimental design. He has a special interest in cost effective human usable design, including organisational design.
He has worked in adult education and vocational training developing Occupational Health and Safety programs and courses, academia (in Engineering, Sciences and Medicine,) where his research included stress, new technology introduction, and economic performance within a human context, and also significant industry experience, having initiated, developed and built the Human Systems Integration team in a major international aerospace company.
Dr. Morris also has a history of both internal and external consulting focusing both organisational and client needs, and tailoring solutions to operate in the achievable space.
His achievements have included completion of specialist engineering programs in large complex integration projects, establishment of safety programs within large and small organisations, development of clear risk management guidelines for complex multi-focus organisations, and smaller targeted approaches to problem identification and solving for organisations in defence, high technology, petrochemical and government.
In all of these cases, Dr. Morris worked with the organisations to establish clear objectives and build the pathways to reach these objectives, and enables ownership of these processes and outcomes by relevant stakeholders, including commercial, communities, the public and government.
Dr. Morris was also the recipient of the Tenix Chairman’s Award for Innovation.
Dr. Morris has worked with a number of major corporations and government agencies, including Tenix Defence - Aerospace, BAE Systems, Mobil, Qantas, Apple, and numerous public and private sectors including local, state, and national government, energy, telecommunication, transport, manufacturing, technology, and education.
